Our Commitment

travelphotoguy is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to explore and enjoy the photography here, regardless of how they access the web.

Conformance Target

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

Steps We've Taken

• Semantic HTML structure — headings, landmarks, and lists — so screen readers can navigate each page.
• Descriptive text alternatives for gallery photographs, drawn from each photo's caption.
• Keyboard support throughout, including the photo viewer: arrow keys move between photos and Escape closes it.
• Labeled form fields and controls in the comments section, including an accessible star-rating input.
• "Skip to content" links for keyboard and screen-reader users.
• Sufficient color contrast for text and interactive elements against the site's dark background.
• No auto-playing audio or video, and no rapidly flashing content.
• Responsive design that remains usable when zoomed to 200% or viewed on small screens.

Known Limitations

We are continually working to improve. Current known limitations include:

• Some decorative and preview imagery is rendered as CSS backgrounds and is not announced by screen readers; the associated link text conveys the destination.
• Photo captions vary in descriptive detail across older galleries; we are improving them over time.
• The site uses image-protection measures (disabled right-click saving on photos) that do not affect assistive technologies but may surprise some users.

Third-Party Content

Fonts are served by Google Fonts; the site does not embed third-party widgets, maps, or media players.
